Soccer Club, Inc.

The Community Soccer Club is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to youth recreational soccer in the greater Plain Township Ohio area, including the communities of North Canton, Canton, Louisville, Hartville, and Green. We sponsor teams for boys and girls from pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade. All teams are made up of boys and girls, but girls in the fifth through eighth grade may play on one of our all-girls teams.

We play both spring and fall seasons, but players register for one season at a time so no long-term commitments are required. All games are played on Saturday mornings between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm, at Diamond Community Park at the corner of Diamond Street and Middlebranch Road in Plain Township. The spring season runs for eight weeks from late April to early June; the fall season runs for eight weeks from late August through late October. See the Calendar page for our current schedule.

Our Safe Kids policy is intended to ensure that all those who work with your kids have no criminal history. Employee/Volunteer Disclosure forms, required by our insurance company to be submitted by all board members, coaches, assistant coaches, and referees, are kept on file for background checks.

Check out our current club newsletter for information about upcoming events and registration procedures (Adobe Acrobat ®). Have a compliment, comment, or complaint? Go to our Comments Page to tell us what's on your mind.

CSC offers first aid clinic

The Community Soccer Club, in cooperation with the Stark County chapter of the American Red Cross, is offering valuable first aid training to all coaches and assistant coaches. The Red Cross program, called Sports Safety Training, is an 8 hour course that helps coaches, athletic trainers and other participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in a sports environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions when providing first aid care.

Coaches and assistant coaches who are interested in being better prepared to deal with injuries or medical emergencies during practices or games should contact Peggi Johnson, our Health and Safety Coordinator, for registration information.

The training provides coaches with the basic first aid skills and knowledge needed to care for athletic injuries. This program meets requirements needed to apply for Pupil Activities Supervisor Validation (State of Ohio & Board of Education).

Canton Joint Recreation District promotes CSC soccer

The Canton Joint Recreation District has joined with the CSC to promote youth recreational soccer in Stark County. Nadine Sawaya, recreation director, announced that CJRD will continue to cooperate with Community Soccer in promoting and making soccer available to children in Kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Players may register at the CJRD office in the Amateur Hall of Fame building, 1414 Market Ave. N on weekdays, 8:30 - 4:00, through the registration deadline.

The purpose of this cooperation is to begin developing a youth recreational soccer program based in Canton.  It is hoped by Sawaya and the CSC Board that this initiative will plant the seeds of a home grown youth soccer program for the city's children. Community Soccer is providing facilities, coaches, referees, and scheduling for the games, which are being held at Plain Township's Diamond Community Park.
