From: Mark Ostergren Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 To: Members, Community Soccer Club Subject: Community Soccer Club eLetter No. 2 Spring 2008 It's only five days and counting until our Spring 2008 soccer season kicks off. Community Soccer is proud to announce that we are now in our 21st year serving the youth of Plain Township, North Canton, and surrounding areas. At last count we had over 980 children registered to play, our highest numbers in over ten years. By now you all should have received calls from your coaches advising you of practice times and opening day schedules. If for some reason you have fallen through the crack do not fret! Just email me back and I'll make sure you get the information you need. Opening day is always a little hectic due to so many new players coming on board and people not being familiar with our operation. Here are a few pointers: 1. If you need a shirt, come up to the building about 30 minutes before the start of your game. We'll have reversible CSC jerseys for sale at $15.00 each. 2. Make sure you know what field you are going to be on. If unsure, check our website at www.communitysoccerclub.com and click on "Schedules" down the left hand side. Once you find your team's game time and field click on "Fields" for a map of the complex. Even you veterans will want to check this out because Plain Township has changed the locations of several of the fields and added some new ones this season. 3. Parking - please save yourself, the CSC board, and (gulp!) the Stark County sheriff a lot of grief and don't park in no-parking areas. They are clearly marked with signs. If the east lot (next to the building) is full just go down to the west lot where the recycling containers are. There is always plenty of space down there. Oh, and if you are playing on fields 5, 6, or 8 you are required to park in the west lot. It's closer, anyway. 4. We are pleased to have two teams from Canton South Soccer Club participating in our program, one in the 5/6 grade division and one in the 7/9 grade division. We have been cooperating with them for a few years now but I wanted to mention it for those who are new to the club. CSSC is a recreational club but there are not many teams for them to compete against so they come and play with us. They have their own uniforms so will be dressed a bit different, but they're just kids who want to have fun playing soccer. Please welcome them. Our annual spring picture day is scheduled for Saturday, May 3. You'll receive order forms the week prior so you can decide what package you want to purchase. You'll also get a flyer with your team's picture time. One last item--our annual summer soccer camp, coached by British Soccer of Challenger Sports, will be held at Diamond Park the week of June 9. Plan ahead and register by April 25 so your player can receive a free tee shirt. Details are posted on the website.
